Biography

Danielle Jenkins

Born in Newport, Wales

Lives & works in Caerphilly, Wales

Inspired by the natural environment and how humans interact with nature, my art consists of exploring different ways of collaborating with nature (currently focusing on the ocean) to document its trace. Wanting to invoke the idea that nature has its own voice, I experiment with varied ways of recording a ‘conversation’ between the ocean and humankind. Using sea-soaked canvases the finished result creates pieces that almost mimics the ocean’s surface, that invokes a sense of awe and wonder, yet the idea of vastness of the oceans abyss like qualities.
