​Within this project, I have explored the negative impact of plastic pollution within the marine environment. With plastic pollution becoming an ever growing negative impact to our environment due to our throw away culture I wanted to dedicate a project where I explored ways to raise awareness for plastic pollution. Exploring an aesthetically pleasing route and using the environment to raise awareness, it allowed passers by to ask questions. This video piece explores how heavily our society is based around consumerism and how our actions are polluting the marine environment. The use of a plastic blanket creates the idea of trying to comfort the world, but with the material being plastic it contradicts its effects as the plastic has damaging long term effects. As the plastic blanket washes up onto the shore the vibrant colours contrasts with the landscape creating an unsightly scene on the beach.
