Landscaped Bodies, 2015

For this photographic series, I was inspired by the works of Edward Weston and Bill Brandt. This work focuses on creating a landscape out of bodies, with only the manipulation of light to help to create the landscape. I decided to use 11 photographs within the series as I think each of these images have their own strong aesthetically pleasing qualities. The use of the monochrome allows the viewer to fully focus on the visual elements and not get distracted by colours. The name of the series, ‘Landscape Bodies’, was mainly derived from Bill Brandt’s nudes photographs. These photographs inspired the name as Bill Brandt’s nudes fit perfectly into the landscape creating them to look like part of the landscape.
