Macro Flowers, 2015

For this project I wanted to capture shape, pattern and form of flowers using a macro lens. I created a photographic series which consisted of 6 images. These images alternate between colour and monochrome. I chose this method, as the use of monochrome for some images brought up more visual elements with certain images, and it was the same for the colour with other images. These images were taken in the photography studio where I had control of the light to enhance the form of the flowers. Within this project I experimented with different image transfer techniques, including gesso and mod podge. I wanted to use image transfer within this project as I enjoyed experimenting with it. I enjoyed the unpredictability of the media. I decided to use mod podge as it gives the work as it gave a matt finish to the images.
