​These two canvas paintings were introductory into exploring how to incorporate a collaboration with nature into paintings. Wanting to document the rain’s trace I decided to thickly apply acrylic paint onto these two canvases and place them upright outside to document the rainfall. Placing the paintings against upright against a wall allowed the paint to run off the canvases, allowing the rain to leave more of its trace. The way the rain interacts with the paint creates the idea that the rain is trying to have a ‘conversation’ with the paint.
